Welcome to my website! Thank you for the honor of serving as part of your 4th District legislative team. One of my top priorities as your state representative is promoting job growth and a thriving private sector. I believe the key to a vibrant economy is letting the free enterprise system do what our founders intended, unimpeded by unreasonable government regulation.

Another top priority of mine is education. As a public school teacher for more than three decades, I know how important it is that our children are given every opportunity to succeed in the classroom and in life. We must continue to work together to put them first.

I work for you, which means my door is always open. I want to hear from you as much as possible, so if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you again for the honor of serving you in the Legislature.

My Priorities

Offering tax relief to Washingtonians

Over the last four years, the majority party has passed tax and fee increases and advanced punitive policies that make daily life more expensive for individuals and families. In contrast, Republicans have advocated for meaningful tax relief for Washingtonians to alleviate financial burdens – including a 2022 supplemental operating budget framework that would have reduced the state sales tax.

Supporting law enforcement and preventing crime

As crime surges in our communities, public safety was simply not a priority for the majority party in the 2022 legislative session. In fact, they didn’t even fix all of the problems they created the year before through their police reform legislation. The Legislature must get serious about public safety. Republicans entered the 2022 legislative session with the Safe Washington Plan. It was focused on supporting law enforcement, preventing crime, helping victims, and fixing the problems created the year before. Democrats ignored most of the bills and basically chose the status quo for public safety.

Enacting true emergency powers reform

Like so many of my constituents, I am frustrated by the perpetual state of emergency that entered a third year while we were in the 2022 legislative session. The majority party refused to pass sensible emergency powers reform legislation that I supported. We must end what has essentially been one-person rule of our state and restore balance in government. Republicans will continue to fight for this reform.

Empowering parents and families

As a father and former public school teacher, I understand the importance of education for our students. The last two years have been hard on students, parents, teachers and administrators, and we must ensure that students rebound from learning loss and other things they missed out on in virtual settings. Parents are children’s first and most important teachers in life. It is critical for parents to know what their children are learning in the classrooms and what school board members are deciding for their future. That’s why it is important we empower families.
